FAQ

  • How much does it cost?

Redesign cost is a low flat rate based on room size. Open space concepts are measured as individual spaces (e.g. dining room/living room are priced as two smaller rooms). Inquire today and a rate card will be sent to you. Redesigns range in price from $1200-$2500 per session. Follow up on a redesign is $250 for first 1 & 1/2 hours and $150 each hour after.

Same day accessory or furniture shopping is billed at an additional hourly rate of $150.

Color consultations are $550 for first 2 hours and $150 for each hour after.

  • How long does the first session take?

Redesign sessions vary depending on what is staying in the room and how quickly we find your inspiration point.

The first design session takes between 2-4 hours. Expect to work from about 9AM-12PM. All redesign sessions start at 9 AM unless otherwise specified.

The overall project completion depends on how quickly clients complete their homework and how quickly samples arrive. Once a follow up meeting is completed, furniture is ordered.

Color consultations usually take about 2 hours and usually have 9 AM or 1PM start times.

  • What about lunch?

Tess likes snacks and always brings her own. Most appointments wrap up before lunch time (12 or 1 PM).

  • What if I have questions AFTER we meet?

If you have questions after the redesign session (before you have your follow up appointment) a period of 30 minutes email and/or phone time is included with your redesign session. After that time, continued design conversation is billed at an hourly rate of $150. Clients are notified when this period begins.

  • Please have Childcare provided.

Tess has young twins, so she gets it. This time is valuable and it's hard to really get your money's worth if you are distracted. Please have child care provided.

  • What's the best way to reach you?

Email. However, we're happy to schedule a call to discuss details or answer any questions.

  • How long do you book out?

Usually 2-3 months. It's a good idea to get your session and a follow up on the books as soon as you can.

  • Will you work with an empty space?

Yes, we can do that too! Designing a space without any existing pieces takes a bit longer, so be prepared that you may need more than just one follow up session to complete your room.

  • Do you provide contractors, movers, etc?

Tess Leeds Redesign is a one-woman operation. While we don't employ a team of contractors or movers, we do have favorite tradespeople, handyman and painters that we are happy to share with you.

  • What is the difference between Redesign and Design?

Technically redesign is designing a room using some furniture a client already owns. However, whether a room has some furniture in it or is totally empty, our process to design the space is completely the same.

  • Do you offer a free consultation?

Unfortunately we don’t offer a free consultation. We are happy to set up a call to discuss your design needs or send you references from previous clients.

  • How many rooms can you do in a day?

We can usually complete one room per session. On occasion, two are possible if the second room is smaller or has less work needed. Check with Tess in advance to discuss options and scheduling needs.

  • what if I have a one or two questions outside of the redesign room?

What kind of rug should go in the hallway? What light fixture should we get for the dining room? Add-on questions are welcome! They are priced at $75 per question/discussion.

If you have 3 or more questions in a single room, a redesign session is required because there is a larger discussion needed about how to pull the room together.

  • What's a mood board?

A mood board is a visual representation of your new space. You can check some out in our portfolio section.
